Annapolis Valley Health - Strategic Planning

In order to provide better and integrated care, their plan is aligned with the strategic priorities of the Department of Health, their regional partners and their tertiary referral centres.  They intend their strategic plan to be a dynamic tool providing direction and constantly evolving as they move forward.

The key to their success will be in strengthening partnerships that already exist and developing new ones.

The project included:

• engaging the community served by AVH in establishing strategic, district-wide priorities for the next three years;

• providing an opportunity for AVH to strengthen relationships with communities throughout the District;

• developing and implement a preliminary input questionnaire;

• developing a draft and final versions of consultation discussion;

• facilitating of 15 consultation meetings;

• collation and analysis of consultation meeting feedback;

• developing a draft strategic plan;

• developing a final draft of strategic plan incorporating executive team feedback; and

• oversee overall project management.

The Second Round of Strategic Planning is well on its way and a final draft will need to be presented to the AHV executive team for the final round of input, and production of a final draft.
